NEW PORT RICHEY, FL – A truck crashed into an SUV, then collided with three nearby pedestrians Wednesday afternoon.
According to Fox13, the accident happened around 4 p.m. off Grand Boulevard near School Road.
The truck was heading south when it drifted into the northbound lane, where it collided with an oncoming SUV. The impact caused the truck to hit three pedestrians who were walking beside the road.
All three pedestrians, a driver and passenger of the SUV, and the truck driver were injured in the accident. The severity of the injuries ranged from minor to moderate, and all appear to be recovering.
Police suspect the truck driver was intoxicated at the time. Upon release from the hospital he will be arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
