PASCO COUNTY, FL – State troopers responded to the scene of a deadly collision between an SUV and a motorcycle in Pasco County Wednesday afternoon, reports the Tampa Bay Times.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the SUV was going south on U.S. 19 toward Bolton Avenue just after 2:30 p.m., at the same time a motorcycle was going north on U.S. 19 and also approaching the intersection.
Troopers said the SUV made a turn from the left turn lane into the path of the motorcycle, which was in the center lane. The motorcycle struck the front of the SUV and the rider was thrown from the bike. The motorcyclist, a 57-year-old man from Spring Hill, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet, the FHP said.
The driver of the SUV, a 79-year-old Hudson man, suffered minor injuries.
