HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL. – An 18-year-old Tampa man was severely injured in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday.
According to the Tampa Bay Reporter, the collision occurred at the intersection of Hoover Boulevard and W Hillsborough Avenue (State Road 580) shortly after 9:00 p.m. A 27-year-old man in a sedan attempted to make a U-turn on Hillsborough Avenue when he hit the motorcyclist who was heading westbound on SR-580. The motorcycle then hit the median and struck another vehicle heading westbound.
The motorcyclist was seriously injured and was transported to the hospital. No one else was hurt, and authorities are still investigating the accident.
