PALM HARBOR, FL – According to WFLA, two people died in a three-vehicle collision involving two motorcycles on U.S. 19 near Eagle Chase Blvd Saturday.
The two motorcyclists were heading south on U.S. 19 when one motorcyclist collided with the other at around 11:20 a.m. They then struck a pickup truck that was hauling a trailer.
Rescue crews pronounced the 66-year-old man operating the first motorcycle dead at the scene of the accident. They air lifted his passenger, a 62-year-old woman, to an area hospital, where she later died. Neither of them was wearing a helmet.
The 52-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman riding the other motorcycle were seriously injured in the incident.
The pickup truck driver was not harmed.
