PASCO COUNTY, FL – Authorities say a driver left the scene after a pedestrian was fatally struck in Pasco County, WFLA reports.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the accident happened either Thursday night or early Friday morning. The pedestrian was walking on Bowman Road near U.S. 41 and was struck by a pickup truck.
The driver did not stop to help after the crash and kept on going, the FHP said.
The victim, a 49-year-old New Port Richey man, was pronounced dead shortly before 9 a.m. Friday. His name has not been released. State troopers are investigating the hit-and-run incident.
