LITHIA, FL – A driver died after colliding with an 11-foot alligator on CR 672 Thursday morning, according to WFLA.
John Hopkins, 59, was driving east on CR 672, about two miles west of CR 39, when he struck the alligator. The impact sent the vehicle off-road and into a ditch.
First responders pronounced Hopkins dead at the scene.
