HUDSON, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of an accident that killed a bicyclist in Pasco County.
According to The Suncoast News, the victim was a 54-year-old man riding a bicycle on U.S. 19 near Beach Boulevard Monday night.
Investigators said the man was riding ahead of a sedan in the southbound lane of U.S. 19. The car, driven by an 18-year-old woman, struck the back of the bicycle at about 9:42 p.m. and the man was thrown off the bike.
The bicycle rider, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car sustained minor injuries.
Troopers said the bicycle had no lights or reflectors.
